Above All Pilot Summer Camp

five days of flight training

Join us for Santa Barbara's most exciting youth summer camp! Our camp is designed to blend the joy of flying with the core STEM subject areas that are encountered in flight. Your child will learn about weather, aerodynamics, airplane systems, computing cross-country flight plans, and radio communication. Each day of camp will include ground instruction, flight instruction*, and an aviation-themed activity. All participants will receive an Above All Aviation t-shirt and a logbook. Private instruction is available after camp each day from 2:00pm-5:00pm, and 9:00am-5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. 

Camp price is $1,800

*Flight instruction will be split between aircraft and full-motion simulator time, both of which count towards FAA flight experience requirements.

Summer 2024 schedule:

July 29 through August 2, 10 am - 2 pm (Camp will be limited to 9 campers)

Sample Itinerary:

Ground Instruction and Activities - 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM - Aircraft parts and control surfaces, aircraft instruments, how to preflight your aircraft; paper airplane contest, quizzes, airplane design challenge.

Lunch - 11:30 AM - 12:00 PM

Flight Instruction / Tours - 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM - Introduction to basic flight skills, radio communications, flight to anothe airport; tour of Santa Barbara Air Traffic Control tower and Fire Station, Above All Aviation maintenance facility, oil change demonstration by our own A&P mechanics.
